Cougar Golf Enjoys 2026 National Golf Championships
Gochinski Sinks Pair of Eagles
(Chautauqua, NY) – HCC golf participated in the 2026 NJCAA Division III Golf Championships this past week, marking the program's fourth appearance at the national event in the past five years. The Cougars enjoyed playing four rounds at the beautiful and extremely challenging Chautauqua Golf Club.
Alex Gochinski (Greenfield, MA / Frontier Regional HS) was Holyoke's top performing golfer at the event, playing in the national tournament for the second time. Gochinski had two eagles, both coming on the course's par-five 13th hole. He sank eagle putts on the 13th on day one and day four and was a combined five under par on the hole. Gochinski had his best round of the tournament on day four, shooting an 80.
Head Golf Coach Chris Stoddard and Athletic Director Tom Stewart accompanied the team at the championship event which was hosted by Jamestown CC (NY). Let's go Cougars!
